The Trial Panel of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in the case “Thaçi et al.” has decided to extend the pre-trial detention of Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi. According to the decision, risks continue to exist that the accused could obstruct the course of the proceedings or ” commit further crimes.”
In its latest detention review decision, dated 16 January 2026, the Trial Panel ordered the continuation of the detention measure for the three accused, emphasizing the need to ensure the smooth conduct of the judicial process.
“The most recent detention review decision concerning Hashim Thaçi was issued in December 2025, and the next review is expected in February 2026,” the Specialist Chambers announced.
