Sir Tony Blair will oversee the future of the Gaza Strip as part of what Donald Trump has described as “the largest and most prestigious board ever assembled.”

Under the U.S. president’s peace plan, Gaza will be governed by a temporary, apolitical Palestinian administration, supervised by a Peace Board. It has now been confirmed that the former UK Labour prime minister will be part of the founding executive board, alongside several prominent figures from the Trump administration.

Among them are U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner—who played a key role in negotiating the peace plan—and Steve Witkoff, the president’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, reports Sky News, as cited by Sinjali.

Other members named include billionaire Marc Rowan, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor Robert Gabriel.

In a statement, the White House said that each member will oversee a “defined portfolio critical to the stabilization of Gaza and its long-term success.”

Trump, who will serve as Chairman of the Peace Board, expressed strong enthusiasm about its composition in a post on Truth Social, writing:
“I can say with certainty that this is the largest and most prestigious board ever assembled, at any time and in any place.”

Sir Tony Blair, Marco Rubio, and Jared Kushner have also been appointed as members of the Gaza Executive Board.

The body is tasked with supporting “effective governance” and the delivery of services that “advance peace, stability, and prosperity for the people of Gaza.”

Meanwhile, Ali Sha’ath, described by the Trump administration as “a widely respected technocratic leader,” will head the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG).

In this role, according to the White House, he will “oversee the restoration of basic public services, the rebuilding of civil institutions, and the stabilization of daily life in Gaza, laying the foundations for long-term, self-sustaining governance.”

Nickolay Mladenov, former UN Special Envoy for the Middle East, has also been appointed High Representative for Gaza, serving as the “on-the-ground link between the Peace Board and the NCAG.”

In addition, Major General Jasper Jeffers will command an “International Stabilization Force,” responsible for security operations, demilitarization, and the safe delivery of humanitarian aid and reconstruction materials, the White House confirmed.
