The Central Election Commission (CEC) is expected to decide on a full recount of all ballots in polling stations across 28 municipalities, reversing an earlier decision that limited the recount to only 10% of polling stations.
According to sources cited by KOHA, during the CEC meeting scheduled for today at 13:30, the Secretariat will recommend a complete recount in these municipalities.
Previously, the CEC had already decided to conduct a 100% recount in 10 municipalities, namely: Dragash, Kaçanik, Leposaviq, Prizren, Skenderaj, Shtime, Ferizaj, Vushtrri, Mamushë, and Ranillugu.
Meanwhile, in the remaining 28 municipalities — including Deçan, Gjakova, Gllogoc, Gjilan, Istog, Klinë, Fushë-Kosovë, Kamenica, South Mitrovica, Lipjan, Novobërdë, Obiliq, Rahovec, Peja, Podujeva, Prishtina, Shtërpcë, Suharekë, Viti, Zubin Potok, Zveçan, Malisheva, Junik, Hani i Elezit, Graçanica, Partesh, Kllokot, and North Mitrovica — the earlier decision had provided for a 10% recount of polling stations.
The expected decision reflects growing concerns over discrepancies identified during the vote recounting process and aims to ensure transparency, integrity, and public trust in the electoral process.
