Belgium has reaffirmed its support for Kosovo’s accession to both the European Union and NATO. The declaration was made today by Belgian Minister of Defense Theo Francken during his meeting with his Kosovar counterpart, Ejup Maqedonci, who hosted Francken in Pristina with full military honors.
One of the main topics of discussion between the two defense ministers was advancing military cooperation.
“During the meeting, the officials discussed the close accreditation of Kosovo’s defense attaché in Belgium, strengthening military cooperation between the two countries, as well as concrete opportunities for collaboration in the defense industry. On this occasion, Minister Francken reaffirmed Belgium’s support for Kosovo’s membership in NATO and the European Union, emphasizing Belgium’s commitment to Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic future,” the Ministry of Defense stated.
The Ministry also highlighted that Kosovo and Belgium enjoy excellent bilateral relations, built on shared Euro-Atlantic values, a sustainable partnership, and ongoing cooperation in security and defense.
