U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he had a “very good” phone call with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte regarding Greenland.
The President also said that he had agreed to a meeting with various parties at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, though he did not specify which parties, Reuters reported.
“As I have made very clear to everyone, Greenland is essential for both National and Global Security,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Tuesday.
“There can be no turning back – everyone agrees on this!”
Trump had previously told reporters that the U.S. would discuss the potential purchase of Greenland at the WEF, arguing that Denmark could not defend the territory.
