The Reuters news agency reports that Kosovo accepted on Wednesday an invitation from United States President Donald Trump to become part of the “Peace Board.”

Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, confirmed the decision through a post on the social media platform X, describing the invitation as a special honor. “I am deeply honored by the personal invitation of the President to represent the Republic of Kosovo as a founding member of the Peace Board, standing side by side with the United States in the pursuit of a safer world,” Osmani wrote.

She also emphasized the role of the United States in achieving peace in Kosovo, adding that today Kosovo stands firmly as an ally of America, ready to contribute to the preservation and advancement of peace.

According to Reuters, Kosovo, a Balkan country with around 1.6 million inhabitants, is a close ally of the United States, which supported its independence from Serbia in 2008.
