Albanian Parliament Ratifies Country’s Membership in the Peace Board with 113 Votes in Favor

The Albanian Parliament on Thursday approved, with 113 votes in favor, 1 abstention, and 0 against, the ratification of the agreement for the Republic of Albania, represented by Prime Minister Edi Rama, to join the Peace Board.

The sole abstention came from Redi Muci, a deputy from the Lëvizja Bashkë party. An opposition amendment seeking to remove Rama’s name from the bill title was rejected with 79 votes against, 30 in favor, and 0 abstentions.

Additionally, deputies approved the clause-by-clause ratification of Albania’s membership in the Peace Board with 110 votes in favor, 0 against, and 0 abstentions.

Earlier, President Bajram Begaj had authorized Prime Minister Rama to sign the Peace Board agreement, an initiative launched by U.S. President Donald Trump.
