“The reason for the restrictive measures no longer exists. Kosovo has done its part to de-escalate the situation in the north since May 2023. Furthermore, the measures in place have not been proportionate since last September’s attack in Banjskë. The European Parliament has clearly and overwhelmingly called for the lifting of the measures, and I personally support the immediate lifting of the measures,” Von Cramon said.
She emphasized that the ball is now “in the EU’s court.”
“As far as I’m concerned, there is nothing else for Kosovo to do in this regard – the ball is now in the EU’s court,” she said.
Von Cramon considered the April 21 “referendum” to be a good opportunity for Serbian citizens to regain control of local governance, but they did not seize it.
