U.S. President Donald Trump met for three hours with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Wednesday. The discussions focused primarily on Iran and ongoing U.S. contacts with Tehran.

Trump emphasized in a social media statement that he supports continuing negotiations with the goal of reaching an agreement, noting that in the previous round, Iran chose not to make a deal and faced consequences.

He wrote:

“I just concluded my meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu and his representatives. It was a very good meeting, and the excellent relations between our two countries continue.
Nothing final was achieved, but I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue to see if an agreement can be reached. If possible, I informed the Prime Minister that it would be preferable. If not, we will see what the outcome is.
Last time, Iran decided it was better not to make a deal and faced the ‘Midnight Axe’ strike, which did not work for them. I hope this time they will be more reasonable and responsible.
Additionally, we discussed the excellent progress being made in Gaza and the region overall. There is truly peace in the Middle East. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

The meeting underscores the ongoing U.S.-Israel cooperation on regional security and Trump’s focus on diplomatic engagement with Iran.
