The biological samples, which the terrorists of Banjska left in the items that were found at the scene, have been sent for examination in Finland, since the laboratory in Kosovo is out of order. However, the criticisms of those who know justice go towards the Ministry of Interior and Prime Minister Kurti, that the laboratories are not being functionalized, but they are constantly criticizing the Prosecutor’s Office.

The biological samples found in the place where the attackers who were part of the terrorist group that organized the attack in September of last year in Banjska i Zveçani stayed, have been sent to Finland.
The Ministry of Justice, in a response to Dukagjin, has confirmed this, saying that they expect results in the optimal term, since the toxicology laboratory in Kosovo is out of order.

“The toxicology laboratory is out of order due to the physical conditions created after the fire incident at the end of 2023. The functionalization of the laboratory is related to the renovation of the IML facility and once the renovation begins, the part of the laboratory will have priority during the intervention. The biological samples of the Banjska case have been sent abroad (Finland) in coordination with the MoD and PSRK, and we are waiting for the results within an optimal time frame,” says the MoD’s response.

Sending the samples there because it cannot be done in Kosovo is also holding hostage the filing of the indictment. Despite the fact that this ministry mediated for the sending of these samples abroad, Minister Haxhiu apparently did not inform her boss about this. Since Prime Minister Albin Kurti has constantly criticized the Special Prosecutor’s Office for not filing an indictment for this case.

“Today we are entering the 30th week since the master criminal Milan Radoicic, sanctioned by the United States and the United Kingdom, still has no indictment from the State Prosecutor’s Office for the terrorist attack in which Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed…”, had Kurti stated.

Meanwhile, lawyer Yll Zekaj tells what the biological samples include.

“It could be different samples, depending on what they were found at the scene and which have different secrets, that should be biologically examined”, stated Zekaj.

He adds that the executive should stop continuously criticizing the institutions of justice, but do the work that belongs to him.

“The government should be criticized more because of the lack of resources to evaluate the evidence in the country than to put pressure on the prosecutor’s office to file an early indictment in this case, we have dozens of cases where evidence is needed as well as for this case to be sent to laboratories in different countries because in our country we don’t have enough resources, we don’t have enough laboratories”, continued Zekaj.

The former president of the Supreme Court, Fejzullah Hasani, confirms that the prosecution cannot file an indictment without having the appropriate expertise and that it should not be rushed, as the case is very serious.

“It is not within the competence of the government to assess the strength of the evidence as to what evidence has been obtained, it is assessed by the prosecution, because it is the institution that only did the criminal prosecution and the analysis of the evidence whether it has been obtained or not, I am saying this because I often hear in various interviews that the Police have provided enough evidence and they are not acting, it is absurd to say that,” Hasani declared.

Regarding the ongoing criticism, but also about the investigations in the case of Banjska, the Special Prosecutor’s Office said that they do not want to talk or comment. On September 24 last year, the policeman Afrim Bunjaku was killed by the group led by Milan Radoicic.
