The Kosovo Specialist Chambers have announced that the Appeals Panel has partially granted the Defence’s request to extend the deadline for filing notices of appeal against the judgment in the case of Hashim Thaçi and the other former KLA leaders.
“On September 29, 2026, the Appeals Panel partially granted the Defence’s request for an extension of the deadline for filing notices of appeal against the Judgment,” the Kosovo Specialist Chambers said in a statement.
According to the announcement, the Appeals Panel granted the same extension to the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office and set November 27, 2026, as the deadline for both the Defence teams and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office to file their notices of appeal.
In a separate decision, the Appeals Panel also approved arrangements for victims to participate in the appeals proceedings.
“The Appeals Panel approved the modalities for victims’ participation in the appeal proceedings, deciding that a practice similar to that applied during the trial at first instance would be followed, with the necessary adjustments,” the Kosovo Specialist Chambers said.
