The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, Igli Hasani, is on a working visit to Kyiv (Ukraine) today, where he is participating in the meeting of Foreign Ministers in the format: “Ukraine – Southeastern Europe.”
This meeting is a significant event for strengthening political, economic, and security relations between Ukraine and the countries of Southeastern Europe. It will serve as a platform for in-depth discussions on current developments in the region, as well as opportunities for cooperation and mutual support during a challenging period for Ukraine and the region as a whole.
Organized at the initiative of Ukraine, the meeting comes at a critical moment for Ukraine, Europe, and beyond, taking place against the backdrop of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.
The Foreign Ministers of the Southeastern European countries openly condemned Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine and expressed full support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
The meeting aims to strengthen political cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of Southeastern Europe, focusing on current political, economic, and security developments in the region.
Albania, as a strong supporter of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, will highlight its commitment to peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region.
As part of this working visit, Minister Hasani will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, and will also hold separate meetings with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) Ruslan Stefanchuk, and Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
