The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has chaired the latest government meeting, which also marked the first session of the cabinet in an acting capacity, during which a decision was approved to reallocate €50,000 for the reconstruction of the Iber Mosque in North Mitrovica.
According to the decision taken at the meeting, the allocated funds will be used for the rebuilding of the religious site, which is intended to be preserved and restored as a structure of particular historical and cultural value.
Albin Kurti stated that the reconstruction of the burned-down Iber Mosque represents an important step in preserving cultural and religious heritage and the cultural diversity of Kosovo.
He emphasized that the mosque holds special significance for the local community and symbolizes coexistence and the heritage of the city of Mitrovica.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism proposed the reallocation of the €50,000 budget for the implementation of the reconstruction project, aiming to restore and preserve the site as an important historical and cultural monument that requires rebuilding following damage.
