At the request of the Ibër-Lepenc Public Hydro-Economic Enterprise, an operation is underway around Lake Ujman (Gazivoda) to clear several properties that had been illegally occupied on land owned by the enterprise in northern Kosovo.
According to sources cited by KosovaPress, the operation began at 7:30 a.m.
The Deputy Regional Director of the Kosovo Police for the North, Veton Elshani, confirmed that police officers are providing assistance during the operation.
The action follows a prior notice issued by Ibër-Lepenc to 11 individuals who had constructed various buildings and holiday homes on land belonging to the public enterprise near Lake Ujman.
“According to official records and ownership documents, the Public Water Enterprise ‘Ibër-Lepenc’ J.S.C. is the legal owner of cadastral parcel P-72908033-02631-2, covering an area of 32,998 square meters, registered in the Veli Breg Cadastral Zone, Municipality of Zubin Potok,” the notice, dated July 3, states.
As previously reported by Mitropol, the occupants were given 15 days to vacate the illegally occupied property, remove all unauthorized structures and belongings, and restore the land to its original condition.
The notice further warned that if the deadline expired without compliance, Ibër-Lepenc would proceed with all available legal measures to protect its property rights and reclaim the land without further notice. Any legal consequences and associated costs would be borne by the occupants.
