The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, has condemned renewed attacks on Gulf states, describing them as “unacceptable” during a phone call with Iran’s foreign minister.

The statement came after a discussion with Abbas Araghchi, in which the two officials addressed the latest escalation in regional tensions.

In a post on X, Kallas stressed that attacks on Gulf countries and their critical infrastructure represent a dangerous development.

“Renewed attacks on Gulf countries and their critical infrastructure are unacceptable,” she wrote.

She also warned that a return to full-scale war would carry extremely high costs for the entire region, emphasizing that diplomacy remains the only viable path forward.

“A return to full-scale war would come at an enormous cost for the entire region. The diplomatic path remains the best way out of this war,” Kallas added.

Meanwhile, Araghchi stated that during the call he condemned what he described as US “aggression,” claiming that recent strikes constitute a violation of international law and have rendered the ceasefire ineffective.

He further argued that the current situation requires an immediate halt to military actions and a return to negotiations.

The developments come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, where ongoing attacks on energy infrastructure have raised concerns about regional stability and global energy supply security.
