The civic group “Asnjëcentmashumë” has announced a new protest to be held on Saturday, April 19, in Prishtina, opposing the recent 16.1% increase in electricity prices approved by the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRrE).
Ahead of the protest, the group will hold a press conference on Friday in Skënderbeu Square, where it plans to outline clear demands.
“This conference is part of continued civic resistance against ZRrE’s decision. We will clearly state our demands: the dismissal of the ZRrE Board, immediate annulment of the price hike, and full transparency in decision-making processes that affect citizens’ lives,” the group said in a statement.
The protest is part of a broader campaign against what activists describe as economic injustices burdening the daily lives of Kosovars.
“Details of the protest, including logistics and citizen involvement, will also be presented at the press event,” the group added.
The electricity price increase has sparked growing public outrage, with calls for accountability and urgent policy review amid rising living costs across the country.
