Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Prishtina on Thursday, Ekonomia Online reported.
Von der Leyen had earlier met with Kosovo’s Acting President, Albulena Haxhiu.
Following her meeting with Kurti, von der Leyen and the prime minister are expected to hold a joint press conference.
The European Commission president is currently on a tour of the Western Balkans, taking place from September 30 to October 2. The visit is focused on the region’s next steps toward European Union membership and the implementation of the €6 billion Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
Von der Leyen visited Albania on Wednesday. Following her visit to Kosovo, she is scheduled to travel to Montenegro and then North Macedonia and Serbia.
She will not visit Bosnia and Herzegovina during the tour due to the ongoing electoral process in the country.
