French President Emmanuel Macron has congratulated Kosovo President Justina Shiroka Pula on taking office, emphasizing the importance of normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
In his congratulatory letter, Macron expressed hope that Shiroka Pula’s election would help restart progress in areas that contribute to Kosovo’s European perspective.
The French president also recalled his meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Paris in March and highlighted the longstanding partnership between France and Kosovo.
Macron welcomed the new agreements signed between the two countries during the July visit to Kosovo by France’s Minister Delegate for European Affairs.
He also underlined the importance of normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia, reaffirming France’s support for the dialogue facilitated by the European Union.
The congratulatory message was made public through a statement issued by the Kosovo Presidency.
