EU High Representative Kaja Kallas praised Montenegro’s progress on its European Union path, emphasizing the importance of continued reforms for successful membership. In a joint press conference with Prime Minister Milojo Spajić on April 7, Kallas acknowledged the need for ongoing efforts, particularly in aligning with European values and maintaining security cooperation amid turbulent times.

Prime Minister Spajić reiterated Montenegro’s unwavering commitment to EU integration, calling it a strategic priority for the country. He expressed hope for further advancement, with several negotiation chapters expected to close by year-end.

Key discussions also included Montenegro’s partnership with the UAE and the EU’s support for the country’s defense sector, with an upcoming peace aid package for the Montenegrin army.
