NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has welcomed Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama to the Alliance’s headquarters for talks on defense investment, security developments in the Western Balkans and continued Allied support for Ukraine.

Following the meeting, Rutte described the discussions as productive, highlighting the three issues as key topics on the agenda.

“Pleased to welcome Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama to NATO Headquarters today. We had a good discussion on defense investment, the situation in the Western Balkans and Allied support for Ukraine,” Rutte wrote on X.

The meeting comes as NATO continues to emphasize increased defense spending among its members, while maintaining its focus on security challenges in the Western Balkans and support for Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing war.

Albania, a NATO member since 2009, remains an active contributor to the Alliance’s regional security efforts.
