President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has extended her congratulations to Albania for the successful opening of the final five chapters of negotiations with the European Union.
In a post on the platform X (formerly Twitter), President Osmani described the development as a “historic step” that brings not only the people of Albania but the whole region closer to full EU membership.
“Congratulations to President Bajram Begaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama, and the citizens of Albania on the opening of the last five chapters of the EU negotiations — a historic step that confirms Albania’s exceptional commitment to European integration,” Osmani wrote.
She emphasized that this milestone is not only a victory for Albania but a shared achievement for the entire region:
“This is a step that brings the people of Albania, as well as our region, closer to the European Union. The citizens of Kosovo celebrate together with you as we continue our tireless work to further advance our country’s path toward the EU.”
The opening of these chapters marks the final stage before the conclusion of negotiations and eventual full membership in the bloc — a move widely welcomed across the region as an acceleration of the Western Balkans’ integration into European structures.
