The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, paid her respects at the “Adem Jashari” memorial complex in Prekaz, in honor of November 28th and the birthday of Adem Jashari.
After laying wreaths, she made a statement to the media highlighting the significance of November 28th for Kosovo, linking it to the public emergence of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and the birthday of the legendary commander, Adem Jashari.
“This celebration, which symbolizes several historic dates, of course marks the declaration of independence of Albania, but it is also the birthday of the legendary commander, Adem Jashari, and the first public appearance of the Kosovo Liberation Army, which brings us here to Prekaz, the place of historic resistance, to once again show not only the greatness and eternity of the sacrifice of Adem Jashari and the Jashari family,” she said.
Furthermore, she stated that they swore before the graves of the Jasharis to defend every corner of Kosovo.
“…to swear once again before their graves that we will defend every corner of our Republic without compromise, we will defend the freedom and independence of Kosovo without compromise, and at the same time, we will do everything possible to ensure that Albanians, wherever they live, have their rights guaranteed,” Osmani emphasized.
