Person Entering from Serbia Found Carrying More Than €30,000 in Undeclared Cash

The Kosovo Police, specifically officers from the Border Police Station at Bërnjak, in cooperation with Kosovo Customs, have identified an individual carrying a significant amount of undeclared cash during border control operations aimed at preventing illegal cross-border activities.

According to the police, a suspicious vehicle with Serbian license plates was stopped for a secondary inspection. The vehicle was being driven by a Serbian male suspect.

During a search of the vehicle and its occupants, police discovered cash in the passenger’s bag amounting to €25,515, as well as Serbian dinars equivalent to €4,813, bringing the total value of the undeclared funds to €30,328.

“The competent police unit stopped the vehicle for inspection in the second control line. During the search of the vehicle and the persons inside (the driver and passenger), monetary funds were found in the passenger’s bag in the amount of €25,515, while the dinars found were equivalent to €4,813, for a total of €30,328,” the Kosovo Police stated.

The authorities added that all procedural actions have been taken and that the case has been referred to Kosovo Customs for further handling in accordance with the applicable legislation.
