Parking spaces managed by “Prishtina Parking” may soon see price changes, as the Municipality of Prishtina is working on amendments to the regulation governing parking management.

The Director for Economic Development and Innovation in the Municipality of Prishtina, Luftar Braha, said in an interview for Ekonomia Online that the municipality is currently focused on freeing up sidewalks and improving parking infrastructure.

“We are working extensively to free up sidewalks and offer alternatives. At this stage, we are also working with private investors to build new underground parking facilities,” Braha said.

He added that the municipality is revising the parking regulation following last year’s decision of the Supreme Court, taking into account all legal provisions and rulings.

According to him, a public consultation process will determine final prices, meaning the exact changes are not yet decided.

Currently, parking costs €1 per hour in the city center and €0.50 in the second zone, but Braha suggested that prices in Prishtina are relatively low compared to other cities in the region.

“There is no private parking in Prishtina’s center that charges less than two euros per hour,” he said.

Braha also confirmed that work is ongoing on a new regulation for towing services (“merimangat”), stating that their number will increase.

“Soon you will see many more tow trucks and many more confiscated vehicles in the city. This means clearer sidewalks and safer movement for citizens,” he stated.

Regarding fines, Braha clarified that “Prishtina Parking” does not have the authority to issue fines, but will assist the Kosovo Police and municipal inspectors in enforcement actions.

The Supreme Court of Kosovo partially annulled Prishtina’s parking regulation on 8 May 2025, prompting the current legal revisions.
