President Bajram Begaj has congratulated Kosovo on the occasion of Liberation Day, praising the sacrifice of its citizens, the fight of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), and the support of NATO.
In a statement on social media, the head of state said that Kosovo’s freedom came through the sacrifice of thousands of men and women, the heroic struggle of the KLA, and the determination of strategic allies.
“Happy Liberation Day, Kosovo! Kosovo’s freedom came thanks to the sublime sacrifice of thousands of men and women, the heroic fight of the Kosovo Liberation Army, and the determination of our strategic allies,” Begaj wrote.
The president also expressed special gratitude to NATO, highlighting its role in one of the most decisive moments in Kosovo’s history.
“Thank you NATO for standing on the side of justice, freedom, and human dignity in one of the most decisive moments in our nation’s history,” the statement continued.
Begaj also paid tribute to KLA fighters, fallen soldiers, and all those who contributed to the country’s freedom.
“Eternal glory to the martyrs of freedom,” the president concluded.
