A protest organized by the Feminist Thought and Action Collective began in Prishtina following the killing of Arlinda Zekaj, with demonstrators calling for accountability and demanding the resignation of those they hold responsible for institutional failures.
Protesters chanted slogans including “Freedom, equality, solidarity” and “Resign,” calling for action from Kosovo’s institutions over the circumstances surrounding Zekaj’s death.
The march is expected to pass by the Ministry of Justice, the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, the Kosovo Judicial Council, the Kosovo Police and the Government of Kosovo.
Images from the protest showed a person filming the demonstration from inside a government ministry building as protesters continued their calls for accountability.
The demonstration highlights renewed public pressure on Kosovo’s institutions to address concerns over justice, public safety and institutional responsibility following Zekaj’s killing.
