Russia launched an overnight assault on Ukraine using two missiles and 94 drones, with Ukrainian air defenses intercepting the majority of the unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
In a statement published on Telegram, the Air Force said Ukrainian forces successfully shot down 81 of the 94 drones launched during the attack.
The military added that missile strikes and drone attacks were recorded at nine different locations across the country.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s General Staff reported that 235 combat engagements took place between Russian and Ukrainian forces over the past 24 hours, underscoring the continued intensity of fighting along the front lines.
According to the General Staff, some of the heaviest battles occurred in the Slavyansk sector, where Russian forces launched 27 assaults.
On the Kostyantynivka front, Ukrainian troops repelled 24 Russian attacks, while in the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders successfully halted 30 Russian offensive operations.
The latest wave of attacks comes as Russia continues its aerial campaign against Ukraine while ground combat remains intense across several key sectors of the eastern front.
