The defense team representing former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leader Rexhep Selimi has reacted to the verdict of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, which sentenced him to 13 years in prison.
Selimi’s lawyer, Jeoffrey Roberts, told the media in a brief statement that the defense is deeply disappointed with the decision, while emphasizing that the verdict was issued at the first-instance level.
“We are very disappointed with the decision, but it is important to remember that this is the first instance,” the defense said.
The defense is expected to review the judgment and determine the next legal steps in the proceedings.
