Powerful winds that swept across Kosovo on Tuesday caused significant damage in the municipality of Skenderaj, including the collapse of a mosque minaret in the village of Plluzhinë.
According to initial reports, the minaret was brought down by strong winds during severe weather that affected several parts of the country.
Authorities have reported material damage to the mosque, but no injuries have been reported.
Images from the scene show the collapsed minaret and the extent of the damage caused by the adverse weather conditions.
The incident comes as Kosovo experiences severe storms accompanied by strong winds, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and hail. Meteorological authorities had earlier issued warnings urging residents to remain cautious due to the heightened risk of dangerous weather.
Local authorities are expected to assess the damage and determine whether additional safety measures are needed in the affected area.
