The Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić, spoke about some “coordinates” of the Serbian identity, as he said, mentioning Kosovo.
“Our identity is defined by the Kosovo Treaty and this largest underground city,” he said. “These two coordinates define the identity of the Serbian people, and we Serbs must behave in harmony and understand each other,” Mandiq said.
From a village in Republika Srpska, he said that Serbs in Leposavic were forbidden to display the Serbian flag.
“We do not want what is happening to our compatriots in Kosovo to happen to us. Today, on the day of St. Basil of Ostrog, they are not allowed to spread the Serbian tricolor in Leposavic. This is how they punished us for the tricolor: arrested, beaten, judged. I understand that it cannot be good for the whole of our nation if one part of it is bad. I am especially sorry that our people are threatened in Kosovo, as you have gone through a terrible ordeal here”, said Mandiq.
Commenting on the warning that Montenegro will support the resolution on Srebrenica at the UN with the two proposed amendments, Mandiz said that they are putting pressure so that this does not happen.
“These days we are putting pressure on Prime Minister Spajic and the Government of Montenegro to give up the announced decision to support a resolution in the UN and the General Assembly that is aimed at the Serbian people and against the Republika Srpska and Serbia. And we will continue to do this”, said Mandiq.
