As prescribed by the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, the constitutive session must be held no later than 48 hours after the initial failure to constitute the new legislature.
Through a Facebook post, the leader of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, has publicly invited the certified deputies of his party to attend tomorrow’s session.
“At the same time, we invite the government cabinet, who claim to have resigned but paradoxically still hold government meetings and make decisions, to submit their resignations to the relevant bodies of the Assembly of Kosovo. Other government members who are not or do not want to swear in as deputies, should continue their work in the Government; until the new government is elected,” Abdixhiku wrote.
Here is his full post:
“The constitutive session of the Assembly of the Republic must be held and convened no later than every 48 hours. Tomorrow, at 10:00 AM, as prescribed by the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of Kosovo, the deputies of LDK will be present at the session that must take place.
LDK invites all certified deputies and all parliamentary parties to be present at this session.
At the same time, we invite the government cabinet, who claim to have resigned but paradoxically still hold government meetings and make decisions, to resign and submit these resignations to the relevant bodies of the Assembly of Kosovo. Other government members who are not or do not want to swear in as deputies should continue their work in the government until the new government is elected.
The swearing-in of the deputies will take place!
The Constitution is protected!
The state functions!
Logic and democracy prevail!
Further delays are simply political calculations aimed at damaging the state, democracy, and the constitutional order!
Tomorrow, at 10:00 AM, we gather in session.
Let it be clear who the institutional blockers and disrespecters of the Rules, the Law, and the Constitution are!”
