As Russia continues its missile and drone attacks across Ukraine killing at least 19 people in Kyiv and injuring dozens more Ukrainian forces have carried out a long-range strike deep inside Russian territory.

According to Ukrainian authorities, a drone attack struck the Gazprom Neft oil refinery in the city of Omsk, one of Russia’s largest oil processing facilities, located more than 2,500 kilometers from the Ukraine–Russia border.

The Omsk refinery is the largest in Russia, with a significant production capacity for gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel, including products used by the Russian military.

Ukraine’s General Staff said the strike triggered a fire at the facility. Images circulating online appear to show large flames and a massive column of smoke rising from the refinery.

Ukrainian officials stated that Omsk was the last of Russia’s 11 largest gasoline producers to be targeted by Ukrainian strikes, underscoring Kyiv’s expanding campaign against Russia’s energy infrastructure.

Russian authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
