May 3 has been marked as World Press Freedom Day since 1993 by the United Nations General Assembly.
In Kosovo, the day will be observed through various activities.
As part of the 2026 observance, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo is hosting a panel discussion today on the topic “The impact of the profession on the mental health of media workers.”
Kosovo ranks 84th out of 180 countries in the 2026 World Press Freedom Index, marking an improvement compared to the previous year, when it was ranked 99th.
According to the annual report by Reporters Without Borders for 2018, Kosovo was ranked 78th, four places higher than in 2017, when it stood at 82nd.
