Former head of the BIA and current leader of the Socialist Movement of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, has issued alarming threats against Kosovo, its Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and any individual he considers to be pursuing anti-Serb policies.

In a Serbian media broadcast, Vulin stated that Serbia and its intelligence services should operate in Kosovo similarly to how Israel allegedly uses Mossad against perceived enemies:

“The Serbian state must act. I would then demand our services to create a clear plan on how to deal with named individuals pursuing anti-Serb policies… If Israel can do it, if Mossad can, why can’t our services? Why can’t we?” he said, according to RTK.

Vulin openly claimed that Serbia has carried out attacks against Albanians before and warned that the Serbian state knows how to “handle such matters effectively”. He specifically threatened Prime Minister Kurti and any political actors following anti-Serb policies, insisting that Kosovo should fear Serbia.

Despite currently holding no official government position, Vulin has previously served in key roles, including Director of the Office for Kosovo (2012), Minister without portfolio for Kosovo, head of BIA, and Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia.

Experts warn that Vulin’s rhetoric reflects a dangerous and aggressive nationalist narrative, potentially escalating tensions in the region and undermining efforts for dialogue and stability between Serbia and Kosovo.
