The well-known American journalist of CNN, Christiane Amanpour, in an interview given to the Swiss newspaper in the Albanian language, Le Canton27, spoke about Kosovo and Albanians as a whole.
For journalist Nefail Maliqi, Amanpour stated that Kosovo deserves independence and there is no going back.
“Kosovo is on a good path. There is no turning back. She has never been better than today. You, as a freedom-loving people, deserve independence, freedom and democracy to live like all other European peoples, to live together with all other citizens and communities in Kosovo. From now on, you only have to work and build your country, the newest country in Europe, since you have a powerful diaspora here in Europe and America”, stated Christiane Amanpour.
From Geneva, where she participated in the awarding of the 2024 International Press Caricature Award, on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, she also spoke about the media which are continuing to be discriminated against, becoming victims of censorship, threats, attacks on political journalists and dictatorial governments.
