Head coach Franco Foda is expected to announce the squad of players for Kosovo national football team on March 20, ahead of the crucial match against Slovakia national football team.
The match between Kosovo and Slovakia will take place on March 26 in Bratislava and will serve as the play-off semifinal for qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This squad announcement is considered one of the most important for Foda since taking charge of Kosovo, as the “Dardanians” are only two matches away from achieving a historic World Cup qualification.
The winner of the Kosovo–Slovakia clash will advance to the play-off final, where they will face the winner of the match between the Turkey national football team and the Romania national football team.
The final is scheduled for March 31, and if Kosovo advances, the match will be played at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina.
Regarding the squad, major changes are not expected compared to previous call-ups. However, Kosovo will officially be without captain Amir Rrahmani due to injury.
Meanwhile, Ilir Krasniqi is expected to be available despite suffering an injury a few days ago.
Another expected absence is forward Dardan Shabanhaxhaj of FC Rubin Kazan, who had received his first national team call-up but will miss the match due to injury.
The Kosovo national team will begin its training camp on March 23 ahead of the decisive encounter with Slovakia.
