A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck central Turkey in the early hours of the morning.
According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the earthquake’s epicenter was located about 46 kilometers north of Tokat at a depth of 6.4 kilometers.
The tremor occurred at approximately 03:35 local time and was felt across several provinces in the region.
Authorities have not immediately reported major damage or casualties, but monitoring and assessments are continuing as officials evaluate the impact of the quake.
