The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, commemorated the massacre that took place at the Green Market in Mitrovica on March 13, 1999, where seven innocent civilians, aged 5 to 65, were brutally killed, and 128 others were wounded.

“March 13 is a date that Mitrovica will never forget. On this day, we remember the victims of the Green Market massacre in Mitrovica, where on March 13, 1999, seven innocent civilians, aged only 5 to 65, were mercilessly killed by the artillery of the genocidal Serbian regime. In this horrific act, 128 other citizens were wounded—children, women, the elderly, and young people—who faced the barbarity of a criminal regime,” Osmani wrote.

She emphasized that the Green Market massacre remains a painful testimony to these atrocities.

“The Green Market massacre remains a sorrowful evidence of the brutal crimes committed during the war in Kosovo. We bow with respect before the victims, share the grief with their families, and reaffirm the call for justice,” she added.
