Avio Orav, the Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, is expected to soon begin a new assignment in Turkey.
Matti Maasikas, Acting Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS), expressed his gratitude and best wishes to Orav for his service in Kosovo. In a post on X, Maasikas praised Orav’s contributions, writing: “Thank you, Avio Orav, for the excellent work in Kosovo! You will be greatly missed. Congratulations on your new role in Turkey, and I look forward to continuing our collaboration as we have over the decades in various capacities.”
Orav assumed his role as EU Office Head in Kosovo on 2 September 2024, succeeding Thomas Szunyog. His tenure has been marked by active engagement in Kosovo’s EU integration and regional cooperation initiatives.
