Remembering April 13, 1999

On April 13, 1999, Serbian forces surrounded the Vatë neighborhood and the nearby village of Sllatinë. After intense shelling, they entered the area, looted and burned homes, and killed 13 unarmed Albanian civilians.

The annual commemoration serves to honor the victims and preserve the memory of the events that took place during one of the most difficult periods in Kosovo’s recent history.
