Hysni Gucati, head of the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans Organization, has announced that more than 100,000 citizens have already signed a petition in support of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army who are currently being tried in The Hague.

According to Gucati, the petition—collected through both physical and online channels—is expected to be submitted to the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in early May, while the collection of signatures is still ongoing across Kosovo, the region, and the diaspora.

He emphasized that signatures from key locations such as Tirana, Skopje, Montenegro, and the municipalities of Preševo and Medveđa have not yet been fully counted, and are expected to significantly increase the total.

The initiative began about a month ago and, despite delays due to protests, has seen what Gucati described as strong public mobilization. He noted that cooperation has also taken place with universities and various organizations in Kosovo, Albania, and Tetovo.

Gucati said the goal is to surpass 200,000 signatures by May 1, calling the petition a “powerful message” to the court.

“We are asking for justice and equality from that court, because we believe it has not delivered either,” he stated, adding that the petition reflects public support for former KLA leaders.

The petition is intended to demonstrate broad backing among Albanians and to influence perceptions around the ongoing legal proceedings in The Hague.
