Kosovo’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Glauk Konjufca, paid tribute in New York City to former U.S. Congressman Eliot Engel, honoring his longstanding support for Kosovo.
In a post on social media, Konjufca expressed condolences on behalf of the Republic of Kosovo to Engel’s family, describing the moment as an opportunity to honor the life and legacy of a “great friend of Albanians and Kosovo.”
He highlighted that Engel, for decades, stood with unwavering commitment in defending the rights of the people of Kosovo for liberation, freedom, and independence.
“His contribution is at the foundation of our lasting friendship with the United States,” Konjufca wrote, emphasizing Engel’s key role in strengthening ties between Kosovo and the U.S.
Engel, who served for many years in the U.S. Congress, was widely recognized as one of the strongest supporters of Kosovo on Capitol Hill.
