Number of Visitors to Kosovo Continues to Rise

In April 2026, hotels in Kosovo recorded 67,093 visitors, including 40,060 foreign visitors and 27,034 domestic visitors. The largest number of tourists came from Albania with 8,258 visitors, followed by Germany with 4,724 visitors.

Kosovo’s hospitality sector recorded significant growth during April 2026, welcoming thousands more visitors compared to the same period last year.

According to data from the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, interest in visiting Kosovo was driven mainly by travelers from the region and the diaspora, while overnight stays also recorded notable growth.

Statistics show that the total number of hotel visitors in April 2026 reached 67,093. Of these, 27,034 were domestic visitors, while 40,060 were international visitors.

Compared to April 2025, when the total number of visitors stood at 54,812, this year’s figure represents an increase of 22.4 percent.

Overnight stays also increased. A total of 149,753 overnight stays were recorded, of which 75,143 (50.1 percent) were generated by foreign visitors, while 74,610 were generated by domestic visitors.

As for international visitors, their number increased by 23.5 percent compared to April 2025. In total, Kosovo welcomed 40,060 foreign tourists.

The highest number of visitors came from:

  • Albania – 8,258 visitors
  • Germany – 4,724 visitors
  • Switzerland – 4,033 visitors
  • Turkey – 3,531 visitors

The largest growth was recorded among visitors from Switzerland, with an increase of 33.5 percent, while visitors from Germany increased by 28.2 percent. The number of visitors from Albania rose by 14.1 percent, while those from Turkey increased by 15.2 percent.

Foreign tourists also recorded more overnight stays. Visitors from Switzerland accounted for 7,773 overnight stays, representing an increase of 56.4 percent compared to a year earlier. Tourists from Germany recorded 9,349 overnight stays, up 20.6 percent, while visitors from Albania generated 15,438 overnight stays.

Meanwhile, tourists from Turkey were the only group to record a decline in overnight stays, falling by 10.7 percent compared to April 2025.
