Kosovo Security Force (KSF) Commander Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari met with U.S. Senator Joni K. Ernst of Iowa to discuss security developments and the further strengthening of defense cooperation between Kosovo and the United States.
Ernst was accompanied by U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires in Prishtina Anu Prattipati and Iowa Adjutant General Major General Stephen Osborn.
During the meeting, Jashari thanked Senator Ernst for her visit and for the United States’ continued support for Kosovo and the KSF.
According to the KSF, discussions focused on the force’s current development and future priorities, as well as the importance of maintaining close cooperation with the United States.
The officials also exchanged views on current security developments and common challenges facing the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Jashari expressed his appreciation for Ernst’s contribution to strengthening relations between Kosovo and the United States, emphasizing the importance of further deepening bilateral defense and security cooperation.
The meeting comes as Kosovo continues to strengthen its defense capabilities and expand cooperation with the United States, which remains one of Prishtina’s key strategic and security partners.
