Nine people were arrested today in Zubin Potok on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “war crimes against the civilian population.”
The Specialist Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo and the Kosovo Police announced that the arrests were carried out as part of an operation codenamed “Case File 23.”
The operation was conducted in the early hours of the morning by the Directorate for the Investigation of War Crimes, with the support of other specialized police units and under the orders of the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the joint statement, the operation is linked to the case known as the “Group of Intellectuals.”
“As a result of this operation, nine individuals suspected of committing the criminal offense of ‘war crimes against the civilian population’ were arrested,” the statement said.
The Specialist Prosecutor’s Office and the Kosovo Police said that further details regarding the operation and the actions undertaken will be made public when the information can be disclosed.
