Students in Albania continued their protests for the 16th consecutive day on Wednesday, gathering outside the Ministry of Education in Tirana to demand political change and call for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Protesters chanted slogans including “Without youth, there is no Albania,” “Rama, resign,” and “Revolution,” expressing opposition to the government and the country’s political establishment.

Several university professors have also joined the demonstrations in support of the students. Professor Lush Susaj said he would continue participating in the protests, accusing the political class of damaging the country and undermining the future of young people.

Susaj urged students not to give in to pressure or intimidation, arguing that they should not return to lecture halls until their demands are met.

Following the gathering outside the Ministry of Education, the protesters marched toward the Prime Minister’s Office before continuing to the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Law. There, they called on other students to join the demonstrations and boycott classes.

The march continued along several of Tirana’s main roads, passing areas near the Police Directorate and the Zogu i Zi roundabout, before the demonstrators returned to the Ministry of Education.

The protests have continued for more than two weeks, with students maintaining pressure on the government. During previous demonstrations, they rejected an invitation from Rama to enter into dialogue with him.
