Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today that Russia considers French President Emmanuel Macron’s nuclear rhetoric to be a “threat.”
He stated that such statements from the leader of a European country are simply unacceptable and raise an alarm.
“Of course, this is a threat to Russia. He is calling a meeting of the chiefs of staff of European countries and Britain, claiming that it is necessary to use nuclear weapons, preparing to use nuclear weapons against Russia, which is, of course, a threat,” Lavrov said at a press conference.
“Unlike his predecessors Napoleon and Hitler, who also wanted to fight Russia, Mr. Macron is not behaving with much grace. They said directly: we need to conquer Russia, we need to defeat Russia, and he certainly wants the same thing,” said the Russian Foreign Minister.
