Odesa, Ukraine – Two people were killed and 15 injured in a major Russian drone strike that hit a residential neighborhood and a school in Odesa, according to Ukraine’s emergency services.
The Ukrainian Presidential Office condemned the attack, renewing calls for a complete ceasefire, and accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of harboring a persistent “desire to kill until his final days.”
Simultaneously, explosions were reported in the city of Sumy, while air raid sirens were activated across multiple regions, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy.
Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper confirmed via Telegram that residential buildings, a supermarket, school, and multiple vehicles were damaged. The attack reportedly involved Russian drones, with five people injured in addition to the two fatalities.
This assault follows the signing of a new economic agreement between the U.S. and Ukraine in Washington, aimed at rebuilding war-torn Ukraine and granting the Trump administration access to Ukrainian mineral resources.
Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine’s presidential administration, reiterated Ukraine’s joint stance with the U.S. in demanding a total ceasefire as international diplomatic efforts continue into the fourth year of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
