The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, emphasized today that overcoming the ongoing parliamentary deadlock requires a political agreement. Speaking after today’s Assembly session was adjourned once again, Abdixhiku placed full responsibility for the crisis on Vetëvendosje (VV).
According to him, LDK has already put forward a proposal to help resolve the situation.
“It is the duty of the leading party to provide a solution understand that. Other parties don’t have the numbers, and clearly, neither does the leading party.
We’ve made a proposal to come together and overcome this crisis it’s shameful, it’s embarrassing what’s happening. LDK can’t do more than this.
We don’t have a magic wand to solve all problems. A compromise is needed,” said Abdixhiku.
He also announced an upcoming meeting with the leader of Nisma, Fatmir Limaj, hinting at broader discussions beyond the current crisis:
“We will talk about many matters of cooperation. Local elections are approaching, and LDK is focused on preparing for them.
We cannot offer a solution in a Parliament where the leading party with 48 deputies refuses to offer one.”
Abdixhiku’s message underscores a growing frustration among opposition parties, while reinforcing that the initiative must come from Vetëvendosje, the party with the most seats but lacking a clear majority.
