Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued two messages on social media last night, suggesting new responses from the country he leads to recent Israeli attacks.
On his official account, Khamenei wrote that “the battle begins now.” On his English-language profile, he announced an even stronger response to Israeli attacks, according to Klix.ba.
“We must respond strongly to the terrorist Zionist regime. We will show no mercy towards the Zionists,” Khamenei wrote.
This comes after Israel launched attacks on Iran late last week, with the conflict between the two nations still ongoing. Khamenei’s messages coincide with the anticipated decision by U.S. President Donald Trump on whether the United States will join this conflict at Israel’s request.
Yesterday, Trump directly threatened Khamenei, stating, “America knows where he is.” Although Trump added in the same message that the U.S. does not wish to kill him, he implied that this could change.
